Description:

The Lithium-Ion Battery that is still used today was created by the contributions of 4 different people. John B Goodenough discovered the LiCoO2 cathode in 1980. Rachid Yazami discovered the graphite anode. Lastly, Tokio Yamabe and Shizukuni Yata discovered the nano-carbonaceous-PAS as an effective electrolyte. Together this created the Lithium-Ion Battery and was commercialized by Sony. Sony later used a solid polymer rather than a liquid solvent which allowed the batteries to remove the heavy metal casing and made batteries of this kind much more flexible in shape and size.
