Description:

This battery was the first battery that used an alkaline electrolyte. Although this new battery had better energy density than previous lead-acid batteries, the Nickel-Cadmium Battery was much more expensive. Therefore, these were not often used by the average consumer, but it was a great breakthrough for the progression of batteries.
