Description:

The case overturned a judgment convicting an African American law student for trespassing by being in a restaurant in a bus terminal which was "whites only". The Supreme Court in a 7-2 decision, decided in the case Boynton v. Virginia that segregation on vehicles that travel between states is unlawful and unconstitutional because it is in violation of the Interstate Commerce Act.
