In 1587, 115 English settlers arrived at Roanoke island. Later that year, John white went back to England to gather some new supplies. Due to the rival between England and Spain, it took him three years to go back.When he finally returned he found no trace of the colony and its inhabitants. No one knows what happened, however, there are some conspiracies:
1. They went to an island Croatan, because that was written on a tree
2. They tried to sail back to England but failed
3. They moved inwards and emerged into a tribe
4. They were killed/abducted by native Americans
