On same Jewish week that the Balfour declaration was published, 7 scriptures are read by Jews (Parashas), each refers to God's promise in Genesis chapter 12 to give the land to the Jews. A few examples below.

"Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants, I will give this land" Gen 12:7

"..for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever" Gen 13:15

"On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying: "To your descendants I have given this land" Gen 15:18
