feb 19, 1953 - Conrad Murray is born in St. Andrews, Grenada
Description:
P. 94.
Conrad Robert Murray was born on February 19, 1953, in St. Andrews, Grenada. The man who would become embroiled in the controversy surrounding the death of the "King of Pop" in June 2009 did not come from money. With his mother Milta spending most of her time in Trinidad and Tobago in search of better paying work, Murray lived with his maternal grandparents, two Grenadian farmers. His fractured family life was compounded by the total absence of his father, Rawle Andrews, a Houston area physician who, up until his death in 2001, focused his career on offering medical services to the poor. Murray didn't meet his dad until he was 25.

P. 33 Book Murray: […] I was the first child of my father, Rawle, and mother, Milta. My parents weren’t married when my mother became pregnant at 21 the very first time she consummated with a man. From my mother’s account the event was brief new and unexpected since she only went to visit him as he was reported to be sick by a friend of his. Take that as good luck for me, but a whole lot of shit for her. Her life was ruined, in those days maybe having an abortion would have made her life easier, but she endured all the ridicule and persecutions. She kept the baby. Three months into her pregnancy, Rawle left for the United States, where he spent the next 11 years studying for his Bachelor of Science degree, his Masters of Science degree, a degree in medicine and eventually establishing a successful Houston-based medical practice, after completing his residency in Family Medicine, and general surgery at the Los Angeles county general hospital.
[…]
After my birth all of her immediate scourge and suffering would change, no one could resist baby Conrad, my grandmother, my aunts and uncles all were clamoring to get a piece of me. At my baptism twenty-one individuals showed up from the community to be my godparents, 11 women and 10 men, all of whom Milta accepted. My paternal uncle, Mosley Jones Esq. an Oxford graduate, barrister at law gave me the name Robert which to him was representative of a strong man. Mosley the proud father of two girls Bonnie and Fay asked Milta once again to adopt me as his son, but she refused.
