Description:
The area known today as “Downtown Crystal Lake” was first called “Dearborn” and then “Nunda.” The Village of Dearborn was founded around 1855 after railroads extended their lines through the area. In 1856, the first train depot was established. This depot was pre-fabricated and shipped from Chicago on a flat train car.Added to timeline:
