jan 1, 1648 - The Fronde (1648)
Description:
A revolution of the parlements in Paris that occured while Louis was still a child, because of this it was handled by Cardinal Mazarin. The parlements wanted more power and ability to deem edicts unconstitutional. King Louis XIV forever had fear of Frondeurs afterwards as he never even called the Estates General and held power close to himself. This angered the Frondeurs, or supporters of the Fronde, as they were not able to secure power for themselves.
