oct 28, 1866 - Labor Unions
Description:
The National Labor Union, more or less the first labor union in America, was founded in 1866 in an attempt to convince Congress to limit work hours. Other labor unions formed throughout the Gilded Age to push for workers' rights and they led to many riots and strikes. Such unions include the Knights of Labor and American Federation of Labor.
