jan 1, 1576 - Yo-Yo

Description:

The earliest mention of the Yo-Yo is from the late Ming Dynasty in the book, Dijing Jingwulue by Liu Tong. The book refers to Chinese yo-yos as "Kong Zhong".

In the late 1700s and early 1800s, the Chinese yo-yo became popular in Europe, where it was called the "Diabolo", which was a Latin portmanteau meaning "The devil on two sticks".
