apr 17, 1938 - Foundation of the Anglo-Czech-Yugoslav Military Alliance

Description:

In response to Germany's invasion of Poland, the UK and France began collaborating about the new growing threat of Europe.

With the German invasion still going on against Poland, France and the UK started to think about where Germany will invade next. They looked south in the Balkans and Central Europe.

They predict the countries that will be invaded soon would be Yugoslavia or what is left of Czechoslovakia.

France declared that they will guarantee the independence of the two countries and so did the UK - the British chose to take their guarantee more seriously by forming a military alliance.

Through diplomatic talks and discussions - Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia are willing to join the alliance for protection against Germany.
