oct 1, 1895 - Phantoscope
Description:
C. Francis Jenkins and Thomas Armat made the Phantoscope to show Kinetoscope films.
They split up and Armat improved the projector, renaming it the Vitascope. Norman Raff and Frank Gammon helped him. But they were afraid to offend Edison, so they showed it to him, and renamed it "Edison Vitascope", for publicity reasons. Edison agreed to making films for the Vitascope.
