jun 28, 1919 - Treaty of Versailles

Description:

(Term 3) The Treaty of Versailles brought World War I to an end. It was created by the allied powers of Europe and forced Germany to accept certain strict terms as punishment for the war.

1. The treaty greatly punished Germany for their actions, hopefully discouraging other countries from acting similarly

2. The treaty assured safety to nations that were threatened by Germany by limiting the German government's use of weapons and military.

3. The treaty required Germany to give back land and pay reparations to the other nations they affected, giving many innocent people money, land, and their lives back.
