Description:

In 1877, reconstruction would come to an end with the deal made between the Republicans and Democrats. This deal included that if the Democrats gave there votes to Rutherford B. Hayes in the election if they would give up on reconstruction. Hayes then removed the remaining troops from the southern states ending reconstruction.
