dec 1, 1976 - Red Shirt vanishes

Description:

A second witness in the trial of two Indians charged in the murder of an Inglewood cab driver has disappeared. it was learned Wednesday. Marvin Red Shirt of long Beach, scheduled as a key witness in the robber-murder trial of Paul Sky Horse and Richard Mohawk in Ventura Superior Court, is being sought on a bench warrant.

Sky Horse and Mohawk are scheduled to trial sometime in 1977 on charges of robbery and murder of cab driver Geoge Aird who was killed Oct 10, 1974, at Box Canyon.

According to a Los Angeles County Superior Court clerk, the bench warrant was issued Nov. 18 for Red Shirt, 27, because of a parole violation.

Red Shirt pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with a deadly weapon on Aird. He admitted stabbing Aird once but said it was after Sky Horse and Mohawk repeatedly stabbed the cab driver.
