Description:

During World War I and the leadership of Nicholas II Russia was weak. With this opportunity the Bolsheviks marched to the capital and demanded that Nicholas II step down. He complied and the Bolsheviks became the only political party with a communist government. This started a civil war between the communist Red Army and the anti-communist white army. The Red army won the war because of better organisation and territory making Communism the USSR's government. USSR = Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
