jan 15, 1609 - Johan Carolus publishes first ever newspaper

Description:

He had made a profession in selling news pamphlets to wealthy subscribers, however, when he got hold of a printing press. he gathered up information from Germany as well as different countries and published it as the first recognisable newspaper. This was called the relation, however, some say that it can't be classed as a newspaper because it was not a daily or weekly edition.

The definition of a newspaper came in Holland in 1618 with the Dutch newspaper Courante uyt Italien, Duytsland &c.
