jan 1, 1997 - Printz V. United States
Description:
Printz felt that congress should not have the power to push state officials to execute Federal Law. The Supreme Court ruled that The Brady Act was unconstitutional. This ruling increased power of the states by taking some power from congress to instruct state officials to carry out federal legislation. States therefore gained some freedom from congresional legislation.
