On September 12th 1422 a new Lord was elected. This new Lord saw an opportunity to gain land on the continent. With the mainland kingdoms gone Lord Bard called the people of Gondolin to the capital. He proposed his idea to the people. This was risky because the people of Gondolin believed more in trade and coins than conquest and territories. But the maritime trade was now at a trickle. And people were becoming poor and some homeless. When Bard proposed his idea the people exploded with support. With this a great army was amassed and weapons and gunships were made. Within weeks the Gondolin army had landed at the abandoned port cities of the former kingdoms, Farallon and Nohan. The army swept through sparsely populated plains. The people living on the plains welcomed the army, for they wished to live under a true government again. The Gondolin army went as far north as the mouth of the Great River. Then settlers went into the low populated plains and filled the towns and villages. The two port cities were filled with people and become lively again. By the time the Great RIver Empire was formed, the Gondolin Empire had set up roots and made a thriving economy.
