While trying to prove that his plan would work, Phillip Johnston brought four Navajo men with him to Camp Elliot to show his superiors why Navajo would be a superior code language in the Military by proving the linguistic capability of the Navajo peoples. After the Presentation, the Marines greenlit the project because they thought it was a smart idea and that it was worth a shot.
