jan 1, 428 - The monarchy of Persian Armenia is terminated by the Persian king

Description:

In 428 AD, the turbulent nobility of Persian Armenia petitioned the Persian king of kings to abolish their own monarchy - "an act of political suicide," in the words of Sir Percy Sykes. Eastern Armenia was thenceforth a province of the Sasanid empire.
