jan 1, 313 - Edict of Milan
Description:
The practice of all religions was now allowed in the Roman Empire. The Edict was ordered by emperor Constantine (r. 306-337). It is still a point of debate whether Constantine was a Christian himself at this point. His personal biographer, bishop Eusebius, reported that he had converted on the battlefield in 312 after seeing a vision, and other sources attribute his conversion to his mother, Helena.
