jul 14, 1877 - The Great Railroad Strike
Description:
The Great Railroad Strike was a nationwide affair. At the time there were no labor unions and the strike was an unorganized mess. There were riots in multiple cities and militias and federal troops were used to put the strike down. While the companies won the strike, they did slightly improve the workers condition because of the threat of a Marxist revolution.
