April 15, 1989 a protest mainly consisting of college students protested about government corruption at Tiananmen Square. Armed troops and tanks were sent in to remove the protestors. The troops shot at the protestors and the tanks ran people over. An estimated 10,000 people lost their lives at Tiananmen Square that day.Added to timeline:
