What is it? After Brown v Board of Education, 9 black students enrolled in a formerly all white Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. However, on the first day of school, Governor Orval Faubus called in the Arkansas National Guard to block the black student’s entry into the school. President Eisenhower sent in federal troops to escort the nine students into the school.

Major Cause: As a result of Brown v Board of Education where the Supreme Court ruled that segregated schools were unconstitutional, the nine students kind of was testing that ruling to an extent by enrolling into an all white Central High School.
Major Effect: A lot of attention was brought to this movement since President Eisenhower sent federal troops to escort the nine.
