Description:
This law empowers congress and the federal govenrment to oversee state elections in osuthern states. This was the result of the use of tests to determine voter qualification in these states or states/ districts with less than 50 percent of the population registered to vote. THis law successfully ended literacy tests adn was apssed under LBJ.
