mar 10, 1877 - Reconstruction ends

Description:

Federal troops were pulled out of the south by Rutherford b Hayes, most likely as part of a deal to peacefully end the standoff over disputed election results. This led to redemption, where southern democrats regained control of the south and put into place the black codes and jim crow laws to oppress blacks and stabilize their workforce.
