Hong Kong civil servants or staff from as many as 31 departments posted their work identity cards and slogans on the Internet to protest against the government and the police's ineffective handling of the Yuen Long attack. Nearly 400 Executive Officiers of the Hong Kong government also issued an anonymous joint statement, expressing deep regret at the way Chief Executive Carrie Lam handled the amendments to the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance and the Yuen Long attack, and condemning the police for not fulfilling their duty to protect the public.
