Two Hong Kong pan-democratic legislators, Alvin Yeung and Jeremy Tam, went to Taipei to discuss extradition between the two places with Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council director Chiu Chui-cheng and representatives of the Ministry of Justice. The two said Taiwan accused the Hong Kong government of failing to respond to their requests for mutual legal assistance on three occasions, calling on the Hong Kong government to be pragmatic and not to add political objectives to the extradition arrangement.
