jul 9, 2019 - 7.09 Carrie Lam said the amendment bill was "dead"

Description:

Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam responded to the five demands, describing her work to amend the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance as "dead", but failing to respond to the demands for withdrawing the June 12 riots characterization, withdrawing the prosecution of protesters, setting up an independent commission of inquiry and implementing dual universal suffrage. She only expressed a willingness to engage in open dialogue with student representatives and to reform the system of advisory committees system.
