aug 4, 1914 - Germany declares war on France

Description:

Germany declared war on France because they wanted to get rid of Russia before it became too strong they also declared war on France to provent a TWO-FRONT WAR. Germany wanted to attack France with the SCHLIEFFEN PLAN. Germany would suprise attack France through Belgium and conquer it so that they could deal with Russia, However Great Britain supported France and Belgium because Germany violated Belgiums neutrality.

The history book stated that Germany declared war on France on the 4th of august, but multiple sites stated that Germany declared war on France on the 3th of august. We have chosen the 4th of august because that date was in the history book.
