Description:

Charles Darwin established a new chapter of life science by introducing historicity into science. His discovery of natural selection as allowed for a philosophical advance due to the idea remaining unknown for an approximately 2,000-year history of philosophy (Mayr). The idea of natural selection had the extraordinary capacity for explaining adaptive changes (Mayr). The simplicity of it compelled Darwin to describe evolution with the famous saying “survival of the fittest (Mayr).”
