jun 15, 1215 - Magna Carta
Description:
The Magna Carta is a binding document signed in Great Britain in 1215 to establish limits to the rights of the monarch; it laid the fundamental rights for subjects of the King (including freedom from unlawful imprisonment). Although it was an important factor in the development of the rule of law, many aspects of it were not enforced and did not always limit the powers of the monarchy. The Magna Carta established individual rights and freedoms, reflective of the principle of classical liberalism.
