jan 1, 1783 - Black Holes

Description:

British (Britain) physicist John Michell proposes a theory which states that the universe could potentially contain supermassive objects which have gravitational pulls strong enough to prevent the escape of light particles. He went on to describe them as only visible by the observation of solar bodies around them. This was an independent and fundamental contribution to our modern day understanding of black holes and supermassive bodies of matter.
