Description:
The land redistribution ordered by Octavian caused tension among the many farmers of Rome. Antony's brother Lucius Antonius stood up for farmers in the Senate and this tension eventually led to war. Lepidus controlled Rome with two armies while Octavian went to go raise more armies. Lucius eventually defeated Lepidus which forced him to retreat to Octavian. Eventually, Octavian returned to Rome with many armies and forced Lucius to retreat until he was finally forced to surrender. Defeating him led to the Lepidus being confirmed as the governor of Africa.
