jan 1, 1764 - Spinning Jenny

Description:

Created in 1764 by James Hargreaves, the Spinning Jenny allowed for upwards of eight threads to be spun at once, greatly increasing the amount of yarn a single person could spin. Though this was a huge development in the industrialization process, the tread created was not strong and looms still required hand spun thread for the warp, the long threads in a loom.
