jan 1, 1917 - 1917 Some Canadian women
won right to vote
(+1) Progress
Description:
By using cause and consequences thinking concept, there are several reasons that caused women won right to vote. One major reason was during the war, men went to fight and women gained more job opportunities and many women became nurses. They proved they could do the work as well as men. People changed their point of view based on the effort the women put. Also, women fought for their rights at that time. For example, Nellie McClung fought for women's rights, including the right to vote. In 1921, she was elected to the Alberta legislature.
