jan 1, 1961 - Rosenberg Group Size Effects on Conformity

Description:

The researchers had a number of people, ranging from 1 person to 15 people, pause on a busy sidewalk in New York City to see if more people would stop and look up. They found that when 5 Confederates were looking up, more people would stop and look up too. They determined that the most effective group size to encourage conformity is a group in the range of 3-5 people, add any more to that and it would have an opposite effect.
