study on the effects of
awareness on adreneline
rushes and aggression
Description:
They injected Ss (men) with epinephrin, the men produced flushing, palpitations, and rapid breathing. Some of the Ss were told the effects of the epinephrine and another group was not. Then, the Ss were placed in a room with a confederate who was either euphoric or hostile. They found that those who were not informed of the effects were more likely to experience the emotions of the confederate than those who had been informed.
This lead to the conclusion that when a person didn't have an explanation for what they were feeling, they were more likely to pick up the emotions of the confederate with them.
