jan 1, 1983 - Berkowitz experiment
on mood and aggression
Description:
Experimenters measured the moods of Ss, and how they reacted to lukewarm water versus painfully cold water (aversive stimuli). They found that the people who were placed in the painfully cold water were more irritable and annoyed than that of the lukewarm water group. Then, when they asked the Ss to blast another person with unpleasant noise, the people who were exposed to painfully cold water were more likely to do it.
Ties the averive stimulant to aggression.
