Self Perception
Description:
Laird had Ss either smile or frown in words that defamiliarized the action, they used words like "contract this muscle", "show your teeth" etc. and found that when the Ss frowned they felt angrier, and when the Ss smiled, they felt happier. This means that our facial expressions trigger or cue the corresponding emotions. This is also under the category of "self-attribution of emotion".
