In Ghent, Belgium in December of 1812, British and American representatives signed the Treaty of Ghent. The Treaty of Ghent was a Peace Treaty that was able to end the War of 1812. It was signed in 1814 but wasn't put in place until February of 1815. The treaty also allowed Americans to gain back the land they lost and settled the boundary of the United States and Canada.Added to timeline:
