jan 1, 1997 - Nuclear Transfer from Genetically Engineered Laboratory Cells
Description:
Angelika Schnieke, Keith Campbell, and Ian Wilmut worked on an experiment that put a protein that helps blood clots and treats hemophilia in the genes of some skin cells at a lab. They created a transgenic sheep, named Polly, by nuclear transfer that produced that protein in her milk.
Showed that sheep could be engineered to make milk that helps us medically.
