jan 1, 1898 - Norman Triplett-
Conducts the first experiment
on group behavior
Description:
Norman noticed that professional cyclists often had faster times when cycling with others than when doing so alone. His experiment involved asking children who were alone versus children in pairs to wind fishing line. He found that the children in pairs were faster than the children who were alone.
This is the first demonstration of the "co-action effect" (which was coined in 1900's)
