aug 1, 1588 - Francis Drake defeats Spanish Armada

Description:

Francis Drake leads the English Navy to a victory over probably the largest fleet of ships ever. His strategy: get to the side of the wind. The Spanish Armada had to stay close to be effective, so Drake got on the wind side of them, making them in trouble. What Drake did to win though, was set eight flaming fireball ships at the Armada. This broke them away and leaving England victorious.
