Description:

During Pax Romana, The outer provinces were pretty much doing whatever they wanted to do, so emperor Diocletian wanted to try and fix that. The result of that was Rome splitting into two different empires, the eatasern and the western. The eastern side soon became known as the Byzantine empire.
