jun 7, 1494 - Treaty of Tordesillas
Description:
To prevent conflict pertaining to exploration between Portugal and Spain, the Pope decided on a treaty, that would split the world in half. The line was known as the line of demarcation and whatever was to the right of the line, would be Portugals' and the land to the left belonged to Spain. Later this line was proved to be futile because the world is round and so without two lines, one country could claim all the land as theirs.
