jun 22, 1807 - Chesapeake-Leopard Affair (1807)
Description:
The Leopard was a boat docked near the Chesapeake Bay and had four sailors desert the ship. The sailors, to avoid being arrested and returned to the British ship, enlisted to join the crew of a ship named the Chesapeake. As the Chesapeake set out to sail, the Leopard bore down on it, assaulted it, and captured the four deserters.
