dec 30, 1803 - Louisiana Purchase (1803)
Description:
Officially handed over to United States control on December 30, 1803, the Louisiana territory was of hot debate between the three powers in America. Spain opposed the deal, but without the military power to prevent it, followed through with the demands. It was a deal set to prevent conflict between France and US in the future and so France sold the 827,000 square mile piece of land.
