The legend says that Ancient Rome was founded by twin brothers who were demigods, Romulus and Remus. In an argument over who would rule the city (or where the city would be located). Romulus killed Remus and named the city after himself. The image of the twins being fed by a she-wolf has been a symbol of the city of Rome, ever since.
